Team 5
Colin, Lauren & Andrew
Tuesday, July 17
The first class was kind of an intro to a crime scene. We
were taught basic things that you should do when you get to a crime
scene. We learned how to prepare evidence and protect a crime scene.

Andrew and Colin thought the
grossest thing was the soggy subs for lunch.

After lunch, there was a class about using dogs to
find dead people. There were three dogs that gave demonstrations. The
handlers talked about training the dogs, and scenarios where the dogs
would be in. One lady had a PowerPoint, and she kept arguing with some
guy who was changing the slides.

The biggest surprise was that there wasn’t a lot
of field work, and it was more like a real class.

Sunday, July 22
What we did that was fun was
when we did our line up, we found evidence when we were walking down the
field. The funniest thing that I found was a REAL DEAD body – psych, I
found a fake foot and there was fake body underneath it.

This morning we had professor
pinto talk to us about osteology. The most boring thing we did today was
the measuring out of the coordinates of the vegetation borders in the
soil. The most most interesting thing that happened today was that
professor pinto told us how to sex a skeleton by using key spots on the
skeleton structure. Collins biggest excuse was the it was too hot
outside to investigate. Some of the things that Andrew found interesting
were the bugs that were flying around and biting people. Over all the
time spent outside was meaningful and a good way to learn how to locate
evidence and grave sites. Oh yeah and tomorrow we get to go to the field
and finish digging the bodies up. I hope that there is no decaying
residue left on the bones. Just kidding.
