Welcome Aboard!

The 2008 Florida Keys Environmental Sciences Project takes twelve students from Metro High School in Columbus, Ohio, to Key Largo to make assessments of four historic shipwrecks: Charles W. Baird (also known as “Captain Tom’s Wreck"), Tonawanda (the “Civil War Wreck”), Slobodna (the “Mast Wreck”) and Menemon Sanford. Students will make a general survey of each site, and prepare information guides for diving and snorkeling that outline the history of the wreck, its marine life and the natural environment.
