Superintendent, USS Arizona Memorial

Doug Lentz graduated from the University of Montana in 1985 with a BS in Recreation Resource Management, part of the school of Forestry. During his college years, Doug held several seasonal positions with the Departments of Agriculture and Interior. His first permanent position with the National Park Service was at the Liberty Bell in Independence National Historical Park (NHP). As a Park Ranger he transferred to Harpers Ferry NHP in West Virginia. While in this position Doug completed the Law Enforcement for Land Management Agencies course at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia and has been a commissioned federal officer ever since.

Doug lateralled to Yellowstone National Park in 1989 to fulfill a lifelong dream of being a Backcountry Park Ranger.  In 1999 he was promoted into a Management Assistant position at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. While in this position he was one of twelve National Park Service (NPS) employees selected nationwide for the Department of the Interior Team Leadership Program. In July of 2002 he advanced to his current job as the Superintendent of the USS Arizona Memorial.
