HOS Dominator

The project support vessel is HOS
Dominator, a multipurpose support vessel operated by Sonsub. Completed in
2002, HOS Dominator is 238 feet (72.5m) long, has a beam of 54 feet (16.5m),
and when fully loaded draws a maximum of 13 feet (4m). The ship cruises at
11 knots.
The vessel is fully equipped for
several different uses, including support for ROV surveys of pipeline and
cable routes, monitoring of pipelaying activities, deep-sea valve
manipulation, trenching for telecommunications cables, installation of
pipeline manifolds and valves, and inspection of submerged platforms and
pipelines. The stern of the ship is fitted with a 30-ton capacity A-frame
for handling ROVs and equipment, along with winches and related equipments.
With an optional deckhouse extension, HOS Dominator has accommodations for
berthing 36 persons. HOS Dominator most frequently operates in tandem with
the Sonsub Triton XL ROV. |
