Ninth Day: Wrapping Up Loose Ends
Tuesday, July 19

Ryan Riordan with the stadia rod for the Total Station.

With only three days left in the field we are frantically trying to accomplish all our goals. Time and objectives sure fly by when you are on an island.  Even though we spent more time on mapping and recording the main house and boathouse, some of the other objectives turned out to be easier then expected.  So, we should be able to accomplish everything that we set out to.  Wayne Lusardi spent the day doing more measured drawings of the main house. Stephen Riordan spent the day doing a controlled surface collection over the entire site. He found some great stuff. One of the most notable would be a broken bowl with the Coast Guard insignia on it -- neat stuff.  Ryan Riordan and I spent the morning wrapping up the base map with the Total Station, and the afternoon digging a unit in the log structure, which turned out to be a disappointment.  Despite a lot of cut bone, not much came out.  Tomorrow will be another of day of wrapping up loose ends.
