Tenth Day: More Mapping
Wednesday, July
20

Animal bones found previously at the site.

Today we made are way to Middle Island were we set up camp and got ready for the day. What Ryan Riordan and I did first was go to the outer cabin and search for artifacts while Andy Weir and Wayne Lusardi used there time to try to pump the water out of a cistern. We came across some very interesting artifacts while we were near the cabin like a broken glass cup, colored pottery and plenty more. Afterwards we took a few minutes for a then made are way back to the site. Wayne and Andy were still digging in the well. Ryan and I came over to help with the finding of thing that they had pulled out of the cistern. We sat down and looked and found some creature bones that were down there for what might be some time. Wayne and Ryan found a couple of teeth, bird, rabbit, and snake bones, and also some fish vertebra. When Andy was done and Ryan and Wayne were finished the sorting we broke down and had a bite to eat. When we were done eating, Ryan and Andy mapped the sight of the cribs in the water and the shipwreck with the Total Station. I also help by hacking down a couple branches. While they were mapping the cribs, Wayne use his metal detector to find at least three different types of bullets, probably five all together. When Ryan and Andy were done mapping the cribs I made boxes for the artifacts but by the time I was done it was time to pack up and go home so I put as many artifacts as I could into two boxes and we put them on a ladder and had a nice hike back to the dock. Later we loaded the boat up with the supplies that we found and also brought with us and, started the engine, pushed off the dock, and went home.
