Our purpose at PAST Publications is to make field studies, field reports, educational programs, dissertations, theses, and collaborative projects within academic institutions, organizations, communities, businesses, and industry widely available in printed and e-book formats.
PAST is committed to public dissemination of research and analysis through publications that represent anthropology in all fields of the profession and provide equal access to students just getting started, to established professionals, and to programs and organizations highlighting their work.
PAST Publications originated in 2006 with a single publication available in both print and download. Since then, the bookstore has sold over 1,500 copies of the 23 of publications currently available. We continue to expand the publication selections of student theses, special publications, CRM reports, gray literature, and transdisciplinary educational programs. PAST Publications fills the niche of low-volume, specialty publications. PAST can help individuals, organizations, or academic programs publish. PAST partnered with the Society of Historical Archaeology (SHA) and the Advisory Council on Underwater Archaeology (ACUA) helping publish compiled studies selected from the SHA’s journal and the annual Underwater Proceedings of the ACUA. PAST has also partnered with Metro Early College High School in publishing an ongoing, special publication series reflecting on the school’s top research projects. Along with numerous theses, PAST also published the two-volume, research study on the emergence of communities in STEM education.
An easy to follow guide helps authors prepare manuscripts and navigate through the process of copyright and procuring ISBN numbers. PAST Publications offer a number of other services and links to services that help authors ensure the quality and look of professional publication. Plus, PAST is dedicated to assisting authors with the process of publishing.
The PAST Publications bookstore provides an easy reference to available books divided by subject and author. PAST actively seeks and welcomes individuals and organizations interested in publishing and expanding access. So if you are interested in publishing your work or if someone you know is interested, please contact us to discover how we can assist you.
