Winter Design Challenge 2012 – Roller Coasters

The PAST Foundation invites schools to pit their roller coaster design against others. Design, build, and test your model, exhibit your design in a scientific poster, or market your design in a presentation – whichever challenge you choose, the Winter Design Challenge 2012 will be an exhilarating experience of project-based learning.
Challenge criteria, parts lists, examples and suggestions are provided for download below. The creativity is all yours.
Coming to COSI on February 1, 2012, teams from Ohio and China will pit their skills and knowledge against one another in the three distinctive competitions – all tied to designing rollercoasters. Seventh through twelfth grade students are invited to participate. The winners will receive the coveted “Golden Ticket,” just as in the international competition for real rollercoasters.
