Girls Who Lead: Minecraft

A first hand experience for girls to uncover their passion for STEM. Though-out the week students will Mine and craft their STEM skills within Minecraft by researching, designing and building a museum dedicated to a woman in STEM. Outside of Minecraft students will engage with local professional women learning about the profession, their journey, and adversity they faced. Having the opportunity to ask questions students will find mentorship and expand their knowledge of local women in STEM.

Students will build communication, teamwork and critical thinking skills while engaging in group thought and team building.

This program gives girls the tools to reach their full potential to explore the world of STEM in Minecraft, and in the world around them. At the end of the week students will create a video to answer the questions – What are your hopes and ambitions as a Girl Who Leads? What are the things that I can do today and tomorrow that can change my piece of the world? Working together to shatter the glass ceiling and craft our knowledge of STEM.

This one-week program runs from 9am-4pm on June 27th – July 1st and is open to rising 5th-8th Graders, ages 10-14. Please note: Lunch will not be provided so please plan on packing lunch each day.

You will receive an email a week prior to the start of the program with information regarding location, paperwork, drop off and pick up time, along with the culminating program presentation information.
