Students in Grades 6th-9th

In this 6-week virtual after school program, students will discover and analyze current societal issues. Students will then be challenged to interrogate this information in ways that may help them recognize their own power to create social change. Students will also engage in service learning, group discussion, journal writing, inquiry-based dialogue, and a culmination project.

Each week students will engage in a 1 hour live virtual meeting with their peers and a facilitator from Building A Generation Of Leaders, LLC. Each meeting will include an essential question with learning outcomes allowing parents to continue the discussion and application if they choose. The weekly topics will guide the discussion and serve as a space to enrich student learning. Exploration within each meeting will include activities and real- life scenarios ensuring that students have an opportunity to apply the information being presented.

  • Race & Ethnicity
  • Class
  • Ability
  • Gender & Sexual Identity
  • Bullying & Bias
  • Rights & Activism

The culmination project will be decided upon by the students with the guidance of the facilitator. It is important that student voices are heard throughout the course and the project.

Program Schedule

This virtual program runs from 4pm-5pm EST every Tuesday for students (6th-9th Graders) and every Thursday for students (9th-12th Graders) during the 6 week session. Total cost for the session is $100 per student
