Students in Grades 5-8
Students will work on researching, designing, and building a layered “Lasagna Gardens” within a raised frames using common sources of carbon, green and brown materials, and simple animal waste. Students will get the chance to interact with live farm animals such as chickens, rabbits, crickets and worms. Applying the design process in conjunction with their research students will create a proposal for a developing vegetable gardens, and systems for ensuring health and nutritional food sources for themselves and the community at large.
This one week program runs from 1pm-4pm on June 24th-28th and is open to rising 5th-8th Graders, ages 11-14
You will receive an email a week prior to the start of the program with information regarding location, paperwork, drop off and pick up time, along with the culminating program presentation information.
