Student Experience Instructor
(Pioneer of Pedagogy)
Brandon D’Souza joined PAST in 2022 as a Student Experience Instructor and our Pioneer of Pedagogy. Planning to pursue a career in medicine, Brandon joined PAST for the opportunity to simultaneously engage in the avenues of research, teaching, and advocacy, all in the context of improving STEM education, a topic he feels very passionate about.
His background in biomedical research and as a teaching assistant at OSU has prepared him to take on the challenges of his position here at PAST. As an undergraduate student, Brandon participated in many unique research experiences, including investigating pollinator behavior through drone images, increasing accessibility of the Oral Narratives of Latin@s in Ohio (ONLO) collection at OSU, and helping curate a collection of indigenous artifacts from the Andes and Amazonia.
In May of 2021, Brandon graduated from The Ohio State University, earning a B.S. in biology and evolution & ecology, a B.A. in Spanish, and a minor in film studies. He will begin medical school in July of 2023 at Penn State University College of Medicine.
In his free time, he enjoys exploring nature, watching anime, attending concerts, and creating collages.
