Battery Builder: Inside the Charge (Individual Edition)

The Battery Builders Individual Lab gives students the opportunity to explore how lithium-ion batteries work by building a physical model that represents the key components inside a real battery. Through guided challenges, students investigate the roles of the anode, cathode, separator, and electrolyte, and gain a deeper understanding of how energy is stored and transferred in rechargeable batteries. This lab is designed for independent exploration and includes a student guide with background information, vocabulary, and design thinking prompts.
