About this Program

"Board Brains: Tabletop Game Design," is a summer experience that immerses participants in the captivating world of tabletop games! Join us for an exploration into the art and strategy of game design, where creativity and critical thinking merge to bring unique board games to life. Program Highlights: 1.Game Design Fundamentals: Dive into the basics of game design, learning the key principles that make tabletop games engaging and strategic. Participants will explore elements such as rules, player interaction, and game dynamics that form the foundation of successful game creation. 2. Creativity Unleashed: Participants will unleash their creativity as they conceptualize, design, and develop a tabletop game. From inventive themes to unique mechanics, participants will have the freedom to bring their imaginative ideas to the gaming table. 3. Strategic Thinking: Hone strategic thinking skills by analyzing gameplay dynamics and understanding how game components contribute to the overall experience. 4. Prototyping and Testing: Dive into the hands-on process of prototyping and testing your tabletop game. Participants will learn how to translate ideas into tangible prototypes, and engage in play testing sessions to refine and enhance the gaming experience. 5. Collaborative Game Design: Foster teamwork and collaboration as you work alongside fellow Board Brains to create collaborative game projects. Participants will engage in group discussions, share insights, and combine efforts to design innovative and entertaining tabletop games. 6. Game Play Showcase: The experience will conclude with a showcase where friends and families have the opportunity to play the tabletop games created throughout the week! You will receive an email a week prior to the start of the program with information regarding location, paperwork, drop off and pick up time, along with the culminating program presentation information. Cancellation Policy

Minimum Registration Requirement: If registration for a program offering is less than the minimum number (10), the program will not be offered at that time. Registration cancellations and requests for refunds must be made via phone call or email. PAST must cancellation requests no later than 30 days prior to the first day of the event/program. After the above deadline, no refunds of any type, including no-shows, are given. Any fees associated with a credit card payment will be assessed before submitting a refund. Requests may be e-mailed to purchasing@pastfoundation.org or mailed to 1003 Kinnear Road, Columbus, OH, and must include the following information: - Registrant's name and email address - Event/program name and date(s) Extraordinary Circumstance: Exception to the rules above — Refunds may be granted if a registrant is unable to attend the event/program due to a family death, or other extraordinary circumstance. In such a circumstance, please contact PAST by email with the specifics of the situation. A review shall be conducted by PAST management. Decision on whether approval was granted shall be emailed to the requestor. PAST reserves the right to modify this Cancellation/Refund Policy at its discretion.
