Metrobots Heading To National Championship

For the second year in a row, the Metrobots robotics team is heading to St. Louis to compete in the 2016 FIRST National Championship.   The team members, students at Metro Early College High School in Columbus, Ohio, qualified for Nationals by winning the Engineering Inspiration Award in a recent competition.

The award celebrates outstanding success in advancing respect and appreciation for engineering within a team’s school and community.  The award qualifies the team for Championships it also comes with a $5000 grant from NASA that the team will apply to their entrance fee. About 40 students will head to St. Louis for the FIRST National Championship held April 27 – 30.

PAST Innovation Lab is proud to partner with Metro on many student programs, including the Metrobots! Our facility is home to the team and their robot. New this year is our robotics practice field. The Metrobots and other area robotics teams have used the field to hone their skills for competition.
