PAST has always reached out to high school and college students to offer great internship opportunities. It’s great to work with such bright people who learn from our professionals while sharing their experiences, hopes and professional aspirations with us. It is truly a win-win situation! We have several interns working with us now and we are very pleased to share a bit about each with you. Come back soon to meet all our interns!
Ashley Jackson
Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Ashely graduated from Wright State University in 2010 with a BA in Anthropology. She relocated to Columbus in 2011 to pursue experience in my career path, and has recently decided to pursue an MA in Sociology, with a focus on education, globalization and ethnic relations.
Currently, Ashley works for PAST as an ethnography intern for the Knowledge Capture team. She transcribes audio recordings of training sessions, interviews, and focus groups for grant funded projects. These are later published in reports and articles to showcase an analysis of the data gathered for the projects.
Rachel Orsborn
A senior in the OSU Anthropology Department, Rachel is a very busy person. In addition to her work as an ethnographic intern at PAST, she has been assiting the OSU bioarchaeology laboratory and worked two field seasons with the Körös Regional Archaeological Project. After completing her undergraduate work Rachel plans on attending graduate school for archaeological theory.
As an ethnographic intern Rachel assists our Knowledge Capture (KC) team by transcribing audio recordings from focus groups and adding them to the KC database. It is important work that is highly valued by our KC team.
