At PAST Innovation Lab “real-world experience” isn’t just what we preach, we live it everyday. Our interns get hands-on experience working with anthropologists, scientists, engineers and educators who are transforming education.
We know that internships help students decide how they might shape their future careers – at PAST we offer meaningful work and an hourly income in exchange for hard work and lots of enthusiasm. Our Knowledge Capture (KC) team has worked closely with six interns who are heading out into the world, and we are sure they will do great things!
Rachel Orsborn started with us last October while a senior, majoring in anthropology at OSU. Rachel is headed to UCSD (that’s San Diego, not South Dakota!) where she has received a Presidential Scholarship and will pursue a Ph.D. in anthropology.
Michael Toth is a true PASTer! As a student Michael participated in six PAST Bridge Programs. He made a big impression on us, so when he asked to join us as a counselor for a summer program, we enthusiastically said yes! Then he became a PAST intern. Michael recently graduated from Otterbein College.
Lisa Beiswenger is a doctoral student at OSU studying anthropology, and has been with PAST since 2013. Because of her work here Lisa moved into a position of more responsibility within the KC team and participated in a higher level of analysis than most interns.
Kayla Galloway began her KC internship in October 2014 during her senior year at OSU. She graduated this spring with a B.A. in anthropology.
Ashley Jackson, a Wright State graduate, interned with PAST this spring and is off to George Washington University where she will pursue her graduate degree in sociology.
Bret Roberts is leaving his role as a PAST intern to begin a full time position at the Board of Elections, working with their social media and outreach team.
