CAS to Host Summer 2021 Outdoor Students Programs on The Lawn

COLUMBUS, Ohio—The PAST Foundation is excited to announce a new partner location for Summer 2021 programming! Five PAST Outdoor Student Programs for 5th through 8th graders will be offered on The Lawn at CAS this summer. Offerings include NArt! Nature and Art, Water Ways, Bugging Out! Bugs & Insects, Outdoor Photography, and Aviation. Whether students chose to become nature artists, explore the banks of the Olentangy River, attend an entomology field camp, experience outdoor photography, or explore aviation design challenges through history and careers, these camps offer exceptional experiences for “tweeners.”

“The student programs that we create with our partners have been some of our most successful offerings,” commented Annalies Corbin, President & CEO of The PAST Foundation. “Over our 20-year history, we have designed hundreds of student programs helping nearly 1⁄2 million students discover STEM education pathways many in partnership with organizations like CAS. We are thrilled to offer these programs on “The Lawn” this year.”

“CAS is all about enabling scientific discovery, to ultimately improve peoples’ lives. Our partnership with Dr. Corbin and The PAST Foundation is a natural fit. STEM is a part of our DNA at CAS, and we want to provide more students with an opportunity to experience the endless possibilities and solutions that an education in STEM provides,” said Dr. Michael Dennis, Vice President Innovation at CAS. “We could not be more excited to see these future scientists, technologists, engineers, and doctors on The Lawn at CAS this summer! And maybe one of these students will be the first person on Mars, or solve world hunger, or help cure cancer.”

These opportunities for students provide outdoor experiences during the weeklong 1⁄2 day and full day options. Not only are they fun, but also educational. Students will learn how to critically think, problem solve, and collaborate!

For more information or to register for these experiences, please visit our Summer 2021 Outdoor Student Programs page.
