The Girls Who Lead Summit

Presented by The PAST Foundation & Haven Collective

When: October 12, 2019; 9AM-12PM(Check-In at 8:30AM)
Location: The PAST Innovation Lab
1003 Kinnear Road, Columbus, OH 43212

The 2019 Girls Who Lead Summit, hosted at PAST and co-sponsored by Haven Collective, will give 120 parents and students, an opportunity to experience interactive breakout sessions based around STEM innovation with the opportunity to “try on” different STEM skills. The sessions will provide hands on opportunities for participants to examine their own vision and opportunities.

The PAST Foundation held our first Girls Who Lead Summit in 2018 and focused on collecting the stories of women and girls who lead in the Columbus area.  For 2019 we are focused on a 3 hour program for late Middle to early High School children and their parent(s).  We want to make the event accessible for free to the 120 guests we hope to have here all day.  We are calling the event Girls Who Lead:  Leadership Unboxed.  Our event has three opportunities for attendees to explore:

  • From 9am-12pm attendees will be able to experience up to four Exploration sessions based around STEM innovation, Public Policy, Entrepreneurship, and Finance with the opportunity to “try on” different skills.  The sessions will provide hands on opportunities for participants to examine their own vision and opportunities.
  •  Concurrent with our Exploration Sessions attendees will have the opportunity to preregister for a 15 minute recording session with the PAST Foundation CEO Annalies Corbin focused on a live Learning Unboxed (https://www.pastfoundation.org/learning-unboxed ) session.  If interested in participating, please submit your contact information HERE to sign up. We will be sending out information and questions for the podcast participants.
  • Finally, participants will be able to participate in a series of small group discussions hosted by thought leaders, mentors, and innovative leaders who believe diverse thought brings creative solutions.  These small table sessions will provide adults and students the chance to learn more about how to level the playing field for all, and how to change the conversation around what leadership looks and sounds like.  Interested participants will be able to store their experience and stories with the Girls Who Lead team for inclusion in the Girls Who Lead project.

Interested participants will leave a legacy about their experience and stories with the team for inclusion in the Girls Who Lead project.

Note: Check in for the Summit and a lite breakfast will begin at 8:30AM

Check out our current list of Guest Speakers for the Summit.
