Advancements in manufacturing are occurring at a pace we haven’t seen since the space race of the 1960s, and as these radical shifts take place, manufacturers are looking for a highly skilled workforce that is ready to engage in a rapidly changing environment. There is no doubt that STEM education is having a positive effect on the future of manufacturing in the United States.
Applied research and development for manufacturing is one of the most exciting career elds for STEM-educated engineers and technicians. Join us on National Manufacturing Day to learn more about technology development and transfer and how it is keeping American manufacturing innovative and competitive! The student-oriented program includes speakers from EWI and the PAST Foundation, a tour of the EWI labs, and cake (courtesy of EWI af liate Fabrisonic).
Manufacturing Day, a nationwide event, was established to address common misconceptions about manufacturing by giving manufacturers an opportunity to open their doors and show, in a coordinated effort, what manufacturing is — and what it isn’t. Manufacturers are able to address the skilled labor shortage they face, connect with future generations, take charge of the public image of manufacturing, and ensure the ongoing prosperity of the whole industry.
