About this Program

Students will experience the exciting world of computer hardware with "Byte-Size Bits: PC Building for Beginners," a unique and hands-on summer experience designed for individuals eager to explore the fundamentals of building their own personal computer. Participants will join us for an immersive journey where they will unravel the mysteries of PC components and assemble their custom computers from scratch. Program Highlights: 1. Introduction to PC Components: Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of essential PC components, from the motherboard and processor to memory, storage, and graphics cards. Participants will explore the role of each component and how they work together to create a functional computer. 2. Hands-On Assembly: Students will learn step-by-step how to assemble a computer, including the proper installation of components, cable management, and troubleshooting techniques. Participants will be guided through the entire process by experienced instructors. 3. PC Hardware Basics: Students will delve into the basics of PC hardware and learn about various peripherals, input devices, and connectivity options. Participants will explore the latest trends in computer hardware and gain insights into making informed decisions for future upgrades. 4. Understanding Operating Systems: Participants will explore different operating systems and gain insights into the installation and setup process. Participants will learn about the role of the operating system in managing hardware resources and facilitating user interactions. PLEASE NOTE: The cost of this program is higher due to the materials. Students will take home the computer that they created during the program. You will receive an email a week prior to the start of the program with information regarding location, paperwork, drop off and pick up time, along with the culminating program presentation information. Cancellation Policy

Minimum Registration Requirement: If registration for a program offering is less than the minimum number (10), the program will not be offered at that time. Registration cancellations and requests for refunds must be made via phone call or email. PAST must cancellation requests no later than 30 days prior to the first day of the event/program. After the above deadline, no refunds of any type, including no-shows, are given. Any fees associated with a credit card payment will be assessed before submitting a refund. Requests may be e-mailed to purchasing@pastfoundation.org or mailed to 1003 Kinnear Road, Columbus, OH, and must include the following information: - Registrant's name and email address - Event/program name and date(s) Extraordinary Circumstance: Exception to the rules above — Refunds may be granted if a registrant is unable to attend the event/program due to a family death, or other extraordinary circumstance. In such a circumstance, please contact PAST by email with the specifics of the situation. A review shall be conducted by PAST management. Decision on whether approval was granted shall be emailed to the requestor. PAST reserves the right to modify this Cancellation/Refund Policy at its discretion.
