About this Program

Welcome to the exciting world of "Junior Designers: Exploring CAD & 3D Printing"! This summer experience invites young learners to embark on a journey of creativity, innovation, and hands-on exploration. Through the captivating realms of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and 3D Printing, participants will unlock their imagination, design their own unique creations, and bring them to life in three-dimensional forms. Program Highlights: 1. Introduction to CAD: Participants will learn how to create digital models using user-friendly software to learn the basic of Computer-Aided Design. Exploring the tools and techniques that professionals use to visualize and design objects in the virtual world. 2. Design Challenges: From crafting custom keychains to building mini structures, participants will put their new CAD skills to the test. Unleashing their creativity while mastering the art of digital design. 3. 3D Printing Magic: Discovering the magic of 3D printing as digital creations transform into tangible objects. Participants will learn about different 3D printing technologies, materials, and the process that turns their designs into reality. 4. Hands-On Printing: Participants will have the opportunity to operate a 3D printer firsthand. Watching as their designs take shape layer by layer, and gain insights into the mechanics and intricacies of this technology. 5. Design Iteration: The iterative design process will be used throughout the experience. Participants will refine their creations based on real-world testing and feedback. Learning to adapt and modify their designs to achieve the best results. 6. Showcase and Celebration: The experience will conclude with a showcase where participants will proudly exhibit their 3D printed creations and share their design journey with family and friends. PLEASE NOTE: Lunch will not be provided so please plan on packing lunch each day. You will receive an email a week prior to the start of the program with information regarding location, paperwork, drop off and pick up time, along with the culminating program presentation information. Cancellation Policy

Minimum Registration Requirement: If registration for a program offering is less than the minimum number (10), the program will not be offered at that time. Registration cancellations and requests for refunds must be made via phone call or email. PAST must cancellation requests no later than 30 days prior to the first day of the event/program. After the above deadline, no refunds of any type, including no-shows, are given. Any fees associated with a credit card payment will be assessed before submitting a refund. Requests may be e-mailed to purchasing@pastfoundation.org or mailed to 1003 Kinnear Road, Columbus, OH, and must include the following information: - Registrant's name and email address - Event/program name and date(s) Extraordinary Circumstance: Exception to the rules above — Refunds may be granted if a registrant is unable to attend the event/program due to a family death, or other extraordinary circumstance. In such a circumstance, please contact PAST by email with the specifics of the situation. A review shall be conducted by PAST management. Decision on whether approval was granted shall be emailed to the requestor. PAST reserves the right to modify this Cancellation/Refund Policy at its discretion.
