About This Event

During this one-week morning program students will learn the basics of renewable energy and power at Mezzacello 21st Century Farm. 

Topics covered will include:

- Intro to power generation equipment, tools and systems.

- Build a portable generator and power a simple tool or charge a mobile phone.

- Reverse engineer a solar powered device and document its function and features.

- Design challenges to build a LEGO water turbine to power an urban farm.

This week-long 1/2 day program will culminate with an in person demonstration of learning for family and friends, as well as a recording for later viewing.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE:

Waterproof and sterilizable shoes will be a requirement for this camp. If these are not available, a pair can be provided for a nominal extra fee.

Students will be working with low amperage/low volt electricity in a highly supervised environment.

Experience with machines and electricity is a plus, but NOT mandated.
